Wait! Hear me out and don’t let the word put you off – give it a try, you might surprise yourself.
As well as the usual sorts of articles I’ve been posting here, I’ve decided to have a small patch on the blog just for poetry of some sorts. Don’t panic – I’m not talking anything Shakespeare-ish (is that a word?), but just a few little thoughts that have rumbled and tumbled around my head.
Think of it like the rhubarb patch on the allotment – you know its there, growing quietly and every so often you’ll go and take a bit and rediscover how exciting its flavour can be.
As with the usual style of my writing, the poetry will be mixed – some thought provoking (hopefully), some entertaining (again, I can only hope) and a style which I’m claiming as new: Visual Poetry. “What is that?” I hear you ask. Well it’s when I put poems to video and music. I’m happy with the results, they are easy on the eye and warming of the heart. If you don’t believe me, I’m here to change your mind!
Please don’t let your school days of poetry put you off either. You won’t be asked to take each line and dissect – this is just to give you a little time out to relax, think, be entertained and heck, maybe even inspired to have a go yourself.
