New Fridge, New Venture and A Haircut!

Well, its been a very busy few days here at MySlice HQ!

The new fridge-freezer arrived at the end of last week – hooray. You really don’t realise how much you depend on these things until you have to go without them; which is usually a situation forced upon us.

The instructions that came with said fridge-freezer were basic to say the least. More of a “don’t let your dog operate this fridge”, when what I needed was “here’s how to remove your water cooler tank, that you’ve never had before, without ripping your door to pieces”.

It took me 2 days – and now I can’t get it back out.

I’m going to replace my middle name, (which I hate), to ‘trial and error’.

Even thought the appliance feels slightly smaller than the one I had before, I am so grateful every time I take out the milk, cheese, whatever and discover its still cold!

Add to that the fact that its the start of full on harvest time on our allotment – think currants, peas, strawberries and so on – which can all be frozen!

Oh, the joy.

As if the excitement of not living out of cool bags wasn’t enough, I decided to go ‘live’ with my podcast idea. I was hoping to get a few episodes and corresponding blog posts under my belt before publishing but a tsunami of excitement washed over me and I put out the only one I’ve currently got!

I’ve come to the conclusion, the stress of a deadline will help me be more productive. Maybe.

There is a chance, six episodes down the line, a case of ‘bugger it’ will raise its ugly head. I’m not expecting success but I do expect effort on my part before I even allow that sort of thought to creep in!

Being an eternal optomist however, I do feel that even if only 1 person listens – it is a success. If they come back and listen to episode 2, I’ve made it!

The third monumental change this week is a haircut. Not impressed? This is July – I haven’t had a professional cut since last November.

I did, a few months back, run down the stairs with just washed hair, asking dearest son, “can you cut a straight line?”. He was 12 at the time.

He did his best and I was happy with it. However a professional cutting my hair?

Yes please and thank you!
