Adventure Park

Dearest son and I recently spent the day at a place called Landmark Adventure Park. Its in Carrbridge in Scotland and it has LOADS to do. Its not cheap but we checked the weather forecast for the best day of the week, booked online for a small discount and took a picnic.

I’ve put up a video showing what happened when dearest son investigated the underwater screen (look for post “So its not a jump scare then?”). I will be putting together the short videos I took of the dinosaurs to make a longer video but for now I wanted to share some of the photos from the day.

As you can probably tell, I especially loved the butterfly house, the ancient forest walk and Networx. For the networx we had to climb through netted tunnels to get to the large net areas (there were 5), it was exhausting and hilarious as it was impossible to keep standing!

The climb up the fire tower was hard going on my hips and lungs but worth it for that view! You can see for miles around and there are signs asking that if you do see a fire somewhere while you’re up there, let someone know straight away (thank you Captain Obvious!).

The Dinosaur kingdom was great fun but there were other things too…

They have a thing called Ropeworx where you put on a harness, go up the steps and do all sorts of balancing acts round a circuit – I filmed for that one and I’m not putting it up because, and I quote, “Its very stressful up there and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour several times while I was there”.

They have loads for smaller kids: climbing of all sorts, slides, water slides, race track with mini vehicles, monkey trail, climbing wall and on and on! There was one major attraction which I admit I was not brave enough to go on: Skydive. You put on a harness, climb up a very high pole and step off! There were a few people who decided climbing back down was a better option! There were snack bars, picnic area and a good shop which had things in all price ranges thankfully. Then there was the ‘Bamboozeleum’ which had mind tricks and weirdness galore!

(Don’t miss the ‘so its not a jump scare’ video – it came from this part of the park and is worth a watch!!)

To say we left worn out but happy would be an understatement! I lost count of the number of times I was thanked by dearest son for taking him there so I know he enjoyed it as much as me! After a 45 minute drive, we were back home and ready to chill……but I am planning another adventure soon!
