For My Garden Bees

I want to take a moment

just to say thank you.

All your efforts,

All your time –

not even knowing what you leave behind.

Because of you I see fruit,

I see flowers,

I gather seeds as the season ends.

But you don’t know this.

So my thank you will be:

more flowers.

Next year.

Every year.

All colours and everywhere I can.

And I will wait –

to hear you buzzing my way.

Our paths will cross,

but you won’t know.

I’ll smile as I watch you –

happy in your work.

As the cycle begins again.
