Your dogs are barking loud today,

like they always do.

Should I pretend that it’s ok,

like you expect me to?

And when I see the blood trail,

should I just look away?

“Don’t worry, no need for a vet –

that’s just how they play”.

And so, don’t be offended,

but I think I’ll stay well clear.

I’ll continue not to know them

and ignoring what I hear.
