I’m An Optimist

Monkey see, monkey do,

but not the monkey in the zoo.

You must look before you leap –

tell the lemmings then the sheep.

Grass might look greener over there,

so don’t you look and don’t compare.

That empty glass is now half full,

to see both sides – a useful tool!

As clouds are filling up the sky,

their silver linings catch your eye.

The hands of time that wave hello,

as you watch minutes come and go.

Books with words that yearn for eyes,

while people read the papers’ lies.
