If I’m honest, I’ve noticed I am struggling a bit more this year with the reduction of daylight hours – even though Autumn is my favourite season and I’ve written several blog posts about it. So, in an attempt to cheer myself up and keep motivated, I’m trying to do ‘nice’ creative things this week, which is our last short break from homeschooling before Christmas.

The first step was a trip to our favourite place for second-hand goods: Moray Waster Busters, in Forres. This week, I found the following items which I think you’ll agree were well worth the trip!

I have a confession to make: I have a lot of Charlaine Harris books. She writes vampire fiction among other things. In fact, you might know her stories better as the TV show ‘Trueblood’, so I’m looking forward to getting my teeth into this one (sorry couldn’t resist it!).

The ‘Mrs Hinch’ book is new to me. I know she is a sensation on the socials but I don’t go there so I’m not aware of all her tips and tricks but there is one I found which I’ll share with you in another post!

I have read another book by Monty Roberts; he is the guy the film ‘Horse whisperer’ is based on I think. His method of working with horses is amazing so I’m glad I found this one.

The ‘Gifts from the garden’ is a book I had on loan from the library a long time ago and there are quite a few projects in it I am keen to try.

So that was for me, but I also found something for Dearest Son who seems to be growing out of shoes like Sasquatch. I was therefore really happy to find these at a great price:

I’ve given them a clean and am going to put new laces on but for £4 I thought it was worth a buy. I also put in new insoles to make them warm and fluffy for the winter:

I love it when I find a bargain!
