Baking our own goodies!

Our holiday week continues and we decided we would take some time to bake a little something. After a brief discussion with Dearest Son, who is the main baking taster in the house, we decided to make the sourdough snickerdoodles which I’ve done a couple of times in the past.

I use the recipe from the ‘Farmhouse on Boone’ blog –

if you are looking for sourdough recipes, among other things, I heartily recommend Lisa’s blog. In fact, I started blogging after watching some of Lisa’s videos on the topic!

I am no expert when it comes to baking but I decided to use the salted caramel flavouring instead of the vanilla as my vanilla essence which I’m making isn’t ready yet. I also used dark sugar as this was what I had and I must admit, they turned out pretty good although I feel like I need to point out the recipe says ‘cookies’ and mine puff up like little cakes but they still taste great!
