I know things can’t be easy for you,

coming after such an exciting month.

You get all the blame don’t you?

You’re too cold, everyone’s broke or ill –

hardly your fault.

You try to bring more light.

You give the bulbs that chill they need,

then Spring gets all the credit for them!

It must be hard for you.

You give them the snow they photograph and ski on,

You give them the time they need for cosy book reading,

and what thanks do you get?

They’re too busy thinking about:

the romance in February

the chocolate in March,

but without you, they’d never get there.
