I hope you have managed to see my other posts this week and enjoyed the music, videos and jokes I have shared with you. It seemed a nice way to show you what I have found without moaning all week about how crap I feel….still!! Never mind, life goes on – and so does the work, but I have made a little progress.
Before I get to that part, let me show you the results of someone else’s work. I know a lot of towns have this sort of thing now – Post Box toppers. For special occasions, some very talented people make decorations for all the post boxes in town and some of the schools and churches too. I only managed a couple of pictures:

They really brighten the place up and I look forward to seeing what the group have created. Due to bad weather and health I didn’t manage to snap the others but if they stay up for a while I’ll try and photograph the others to show you too.
Now the ‘to do’ list. It’s a bit long at the moment but I have managed to sort out the first couple of weeks of our new home-schooling term with a few new topics thrown in. I am keeping April 16th free for a full day out at the Culloden Battlefield as it will be the anniversary of the battle and I really want dearest son to see it on a special day.
I have also managed to re-arrange the bookcase in the hall and get rid of some books which I now realise I’m never going to use. Combined with some items I now realise I’m never going to sell, I have another box for the charity shop. I’m going to give this one to the new shop in town – TIA. They rescue greyhounds and lurchers from the racing industry and being a family with a lurcher (not a former racer), it seems the obvious place to donate our things now.
I spent the afternoon sowing some seeds and then re-arranging the back garden, getting rid of rubbish/broken items and trying to make it look presentable. Our table and chairs are a bit pathetic so I’m using the table for plants and have arranged a few chairs round the battered fire pit thing which I think was originally a barbeque but isn’t fit for that now. I have an image in my head of us sitting round it, melting marshmallows over some burning twigs, while our (imaginary) garden lights twinkle all over the garden like fairies on steroids. It’s a dream I plan on making a reality very soon.
I haven’t been up to the allotment for a couple of weeks but plan to do that on Saturday if the weather is decent. Friday is house cleaning day – although I did manage to get all the sofa covers washed earlier this week so that is one job less! I used a new method for cleaning the arms and backs. Have you heard of the pan lid cleaning method? You put a dish washing tablet in a bowl of hot water till it melts, dip a cloth in and wring it and put it down on flat surface so you can put a small pan lid on top. Secure the cloth in place with a rubber band and use the lid handle to move it over your surfaces – it really works!

Well I hope you have had a great week and have good things planned for your weekend. I’m off to write down my to-do list – if I don’t I’ll forget what I wanted to do…I’m at an awkward age!!
