Garden Plan part 2 and more seed sowing

It finally happened, we finally got some sunshine and although there is housework to be done, I looked at Scooby and said, “let’s go to the garden”. It was time to make a start on ‘the’ project.

I’ll be honest. I spent a lot of time getting all the spare poles and bits out and walking around with a measuring tape, making ‘ooh’ sounds and tutting. I may have bitten off more than I can chew but I have decided to keep going and see if I choke on it! Besides when we walked past the other allotments this evening I saw someone has done something very similar, albeit on a slightly smaller scale and they only used wood, piping and cable ties so that gave me hope.

After dinner I decided to do some seed sowing now that we’ve had a warmer day. I had cabbages, kales and other brassicas to catch up on. I use seed trays and make lots or ‘trenches’ using a pencil. That way I can get about 5 or 6 rows in and get a lot of varieties done using less space and less compost.

Just a thought before I go – where do labels go every year? I had loads of them, more than enough but tonight I had to cut up a yoghurt pot and use sticky labels for my seeds. They looked pretty good but I know outside they will all end up looking blank after being washed clean by the rain and I won’t have a clue what I’ve sown so the photos will help!
