  1. So I grew up on the Virginia/North Carolina border. I have visited the Roanoke Colony many times. There is a group of Native Americans that are not always recognized among First Nations called the Lumbee. These natives frequently are born with blonde hair and blue eyes. There is possible evidence that suggests that they are descended from the missing colonists. There are a lot of other more cryptic theories including some paranormal ones, but I think the most likely is that the Natives took at least the women and children and brought them into the tribe.
