Over the weather and under it

Finally, we have started to defrost. I was beginning to wonder if I’d ever feel warm again – and I wasn’t the only one:

I haven’t been able to get to the allotment for AGES. I can’t sow anything but this is the time of year to get the preparation done. I have paths to woodchip, more lovely manure to shovel, weeds to explain the rules to, and so on. With the limited daylight we currently experience, I’m usually limited to weekend trips. The weekend was a frozen no-go area.

I had hoped we would make it on Monday but by the time the home-schooling was done, dog walking, hubby tended to, dinner etc etc, well, it was dark.

I’m going to try again tomorrow (she says optimistically). The ice has gone but there is now threat of strong winds, and of course some rain.

I had to console myself with some pictures of the Wolf Moon:

All of this isn’t helped by me feeling less than great for the past couple of days. I’m not surprised though as we’ve gone from -8C to 11C in a weekend. That rapid change can’t be good for you. So I’m on the raw honey, garlic, lemon – usual combination. Fingers crossed everything works out by the end of the week!

  1. It is hard to get a grip on the weather at the moment, I agree. This sudden change is not good for my breathing. We couldn’t see the moon for clouds. I was very unhappy about that.

  2. Ah I see you have a blanket dog too! Mine has been hiding under hers for about a week and it’s not even that cold here in comparison! I hope you manage to shift whatever is lurking, feel better soon ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you. He looks cute with a blanket but doesn’t stay there long – he just gets up and walks around with it still over him!
