At last we got back to the allotment
I was very happy to get back to the plot today after all the ice had finally melted. It’s been hard to see everyone else on YouTube working on their plots or gardens and sowing their seeds and I haven’t been able to get through a wall of ice, so today was a very welcome change.
If you’ve been keeping track you will know we got 2 of the larger bays covered in manure and today I finally got the blue covers in place. I know black would be better for the weed suppression but blue is what I have and at least it will stop further rain/ice getting in.

On the other side where the carrots, parsnips and woeful beetroot are, we made good progress too. All the hoops have been taken out, some weeding did get done and we took a bag with lots and lots of small ‘baby’ veg. I prefer to call them baby as opposed to small to give them a more classy identification.

This bay will be getting a thick layer of manure on it as potatoes will be going in this April. There is still work to be done on the plot but each visit from now (I’m hoping), will bring a little more progress so it’s all good.
As I was racing against the clock, I thought you’d also appreciate to see the beautiful sunset I was seeing as I was running round trying to get tidied up to go home.

We’ll be going on a seaweed collecting trip soon – try and contain yourself!
