Cloud Poetry

As part of our homeschooling, we have been doing all things cloud and tried poetry this week – reading and writing. Here are my efforts:

The Cloud

The dark blanket sweeps over my sky,

like a villain in a story I heard.

The sun is covered, retired for the day,

the gloom has silenced the birds.

I wait to hear the patter of rain,

knowing it soon will dump down.

I tell myself I’ll be glad of this day

when I see flowers bloom all around.

Cloud Types

Big and fluffly,

sky marshmallows.

Grey and grumpy,

bad tempered sky thugs.

Wispy strings way up high,

gliding slowly like giant feathers.
