If you look on the back of a lot of porridge oats packets you’ll see instructions telling you to use water or milk or even half and half and to cook for 3-4 minutes on high. Don’t.
What I have been doing lately will take your porridge and your taste buds to new heights! First things first – use a frying pan, not a pot. Yes I know it sounds weird but it works. You’ll also need:
Porridge oats (obviously)
2 bananas
2 pears
2 apples
milk
sweet cinnamon
honey
You can adapt the fruit to your liking, e.g. raisins are also good!
The photos will take you through the steps but the trick is to cook on a lower heat and for longer. This dish was cooked for about 20 minutes. It can be make the night before and reheated or even eaten cold.
