How many ways can you use a pumpkin?

So, the saga continues. I wrote in the last post about finally getting round to cutting up and starting to use ‘The Beast’, aka ‘Mr Beast’ (not that one), aka 53 lbs of pumpkin, (aka ‘if I trip over that b****y pumpkin one more time…..).

I started with a chutney as I thought that would use a lot of it and it did use some but only about 3 or 4 lbs….so quite a bit left.

I got my thinking cap on, its a snug fit and it hurts. As usual, one of the first thoughts is, ‘I’ll make wine with it’. So I did.

Then I thought, ‘Oh that recipe for the soup was nice, I’ll make a load of that’. So I did.

Then I got adventurous! Next on the pumpkin menu came a chicken and pumpkin risotto (which was absolutely fantastic if I might say…I had seconds!).

I went on the interweb highway of ideas and found you can flavour vodka with it….so I did!

After all that you would think that would use up all the pumpkin…but no, I still have more to use so I’m thinking some sort of bread or cake next and after that I’ll be jumping back onto the interweb for more ideas!

The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed a tail in one of these pictures. So I thought I would do a little gallery of the photos I took of Scooby at the time since he seemed so keen to get in on the action!
