7 Reasons to love Winter!

1 – Winter is the perfect excuse for all things cosy – curling up on the sofa with a good book, cosy blanket, fluffy slippers, fleece pyjamas; all better with a hot chocolate.

2 – The dramatic light – be it in the morning or later in the day, there’s always going to be something good to see.

3 – On a bright, freezing cold winters day, everything looks better from inside! Even if its heavy rain, a howling gale or a total blizzard, the view is great from the window.

4 – Feeding the birds – whether its in your own garden or in the park, what can be better than watching your feathered friends enjoying the meal you’ve given them, especially when they sing you a ‘thank you’!

5 – Lights around the towns and houses – we get Christmas lights and then many outdoor lights which just make the place look bright and cheery.

6 – There’s less daylight but now we get to watch the build-up to Spring as week by week we steadily get more light. hint: make a point of recording the time mentally when it gets dark over a period of about 2 weeks and you will notice a difference!

7 – We now have time to plan for the garden – get out the seed catalogues and dream about the flowers and harvests to come.

  1. Ooh good reminder to refill my bird feeders. It’s raining buckets again today here.

    1. We are freezing just now! Map says -1C today which isn’t that drastic but the house just doesn’t stay warm!
