We complain about the weather a lot in the UK but maybe we shouldn’t.
I have been keeping an eye on the weather forecast for weeks now. I may have mentioned once or twice before my many vegetables which are struggling to do anything much due to our cold and wet conditions. I then thought it might be helpful to show you what I have to look forward to for the next week:

Yes, more rain and more temperatures which are below what they should be. My first thoughts turned to the grass I can’t get cut, the courgettes which are yet to show and so on.
Then I had a thought.
There are places which are getting hit by major storms right now, people losing their homes, some even losing their lives. They have a lot more to worry about than some long grass and some veg not growing well enough. A bit of perspective helps doesn’t it?
Our temperatures aren’t startling, we have a lot of rain to come but we aren’t freezing, we aren’t experiencing drought or flooding for that matter. We are safe, we have a roof over our head and food in our bellies. The worst thing likely to happen because of the weather in the next week?
Disappointment. That’s all. Nothing life threatening.
Maybe instead of complaining about it and focussing on what we can’t do, we should take some time to be glad it’s nothing major and focus on what we can do.
I’m sure there are many people who would love to have our ‘weather worries’ instead of what they have to deal with right now.
