There comes a point when you can no longer put off a job which you know, and have known for ages, needs done.
In this case, that job was the horror of the cupboard under the kitchen sink.
It’s one of those areas we all use daily and things just get taken out and thrown back in, repeatedly. There is everything in there from cleaning items, gardening ‘things’, household ‘stuff’, wine making equipment and more. As a result, things can get pretty nasty, pretty quick.
So today, I went to a local shop and stocked up on a few items which I knew would help me with my organising challenge.

To give you an idea of the horror I had to face:

Step one in all things organising – empty everything out and wipe down.

It was getting late so at first I thought I would concentrate on the top and get the bottom shelf done tomorrow. Then I remembered how uncomfortable that would feel to me, for some reason, so I ended up doing the whole thing.
I didn’t quite get it finished though!

The before and after shot:

I did throw out quite a few things and I even found a couple of things for the charity shop believe it or not. There is still a lot there so I’ll be continuing to work through the bottles etc and replace with less. At least now I can find a bag when I need one, a cloth is just at hand and I actually do know where everything is.
It might not be perfect but I think it’s a step in the right direction and I’m loving those lazy Susan turntable things which were a bargain at £2.99 each. The clear drawers for the cloths and bags were only £1.99 each. I’m feeling inspired to do more and I already have an area in mind but that’s a story for another day!
