We are gearing up to start our new year of home-schooling and I’ve been busy!
I have the first term mapped out and a few ideas for other topics to introduce later in the year but the corner we have to keep our supplies was leaving me less than inspired.

I showed it in yesterdays post but you can see it was a disaster: a couple of boxes, lots of books and folders and by the end of term it was a mess. So I ordered something which I hoped would help and I’ve spent some time today getting things in order (after I hoovered the dust, bleached the mould and so on which I found behind the furniture. It’s an ongoing battle).

This is what I’ve managed so far. The old chest of drawers is now in our bedroom for Hubby’s books – he has loads of them and isn’t so keen on the de-cluttering theme I’m pushing at the moment. I, on the other hand have found more to donate or dump and I know I still have a way to go.
I really want this house stream-lined and tidy so I can keep it clean without so much hassle and having to move things all the time.
Oh that reminds me: NEWS FLASH! Dearest Son has decided he now enjoys hoovering. There I was the other day, in the sitting room, working on our home-school timetable, when suddenly I hear the hoover in the hall. It’s weird hearing it and knowing I’m not behind it! Having said that I’m loving it and we are steadily working on his house skills so I don’t have to do everything and his confidence increases in these areas too. I think these life skills are just as valuable as maths, english and so on – especially when it frees me up to be able to do something else!
