In my last post I explained how I had finally decided to replace my diy polytunnel with a bought one. Before I show you how the job went over the weekend, I would like to point out that while the rest of the country was basking in sunshine, we were once again, stuck under a grey blanket of constant drizzle. It wasn’t freezing but it wasn’t that warm either!
The whole process took about 3 days as it was done between heavier rain showers, home-schooling, housework, making the dinner, walking the dog etc etc. I will confess I did all the digging myself but Dearest Son did help where it really mattered and I couldn’t have completed it without his help.
We took many photos (video will be getting put together also). It’s the sort of job which is better explained with pictures so without any more blethering…

I still have a bit of plant tidying to do inside but at least it is up now and I can work on my plants without being rained on.
I’ve also got some tidying to do in the garden but that isn’t an urgent job so it will get done when I have the time and motivation – hopefully on a dry day.
Believe it or not we actually went to the allotment after finishing this! I’m moving the contents of the ‘dalek’ bins into the wooden compost bin – just got one more to do. We also lifted a few more potatoes and did a little weeding. Every little bit we do helps the next season as far as I’m concerned.
I’ll get some photos of the allotment next time I’m up as I didn’t take any today – yes, it started raining so I grabbed what I had picked and left!!
