I keep getting told we can find out ‘anything’ on the internet. It turns out I can’t.

I’ve been trying to sort out a few things recently which have needed internet sleuthing to get to some sort of answer – the latest one being how to get a wireless mic to work with my mobile. First of all, of course, I bought the mic.

It is one which a lot of people use so I clicked and bought it. Few days later, I am excitedly opening the little package to get the new mic out. That’s when I found out it has what is known as a C style usb port whereas my phone has a micro usb port. So, it wouldn’t fit.

Back to the internet.

I then had to find out if I could get some sort of adaptor which I could use to attach to the mic receiver which is supposed to attach to my phone. Success! You can get them so another click and I’ve bought it!

Today, the little package arrived and I took it out, got everything set up and went off to practice with my new mic – only to find out it didn’t work.

Back to the internet.

Apparently I need to activate the OTG (on the go) thingy, only I don’t seem to have one. According to the internet, the phone does have this and I can do x,y,z to activate it. I do x,y, z then I resort to trying a,b,c and still nothing.

I tried YouTube, I tried a full internet search and guess what I found out?

Lot’s of other people have the same problem and NOBODY has the answer – on the WHOLE internet, not one proper helpful answer can be found.

So I’ve learned a couple of techy sounding names but I still can’t get my little mic working. I only wanted to do better videos when I’m up at the allotment but it looks like I’ll need to try something else! I’ve also learned the internet can sometimes, be useless!
