Nothing spectacular happened today and that’s ok.
I was thinking about this earlier today, thinking about the kind of day I’ve had. It was ordinary, it was normal, it was not exciting and I’m very glad about all of that.
The night before I had gone to bed earlier than usual because I was feeling rotten. It was very windy here and as I lay in my bed, I could feel the house moving a little by the gales. Then I started worrying about my little polytunnel in the back garden which I only put up this summer.
Then I got cold, hot, cold, hot, need a pee, can’t get comfy, dozing off, nice and comfy, need a pee and on and on it went. By the time I got up I felt like I’d been dozing all night and not really sleeping at all!
So today we did our home-schooling, walked the dog (the weather was a little calmer), had a lovely dinner and watched a movie as it was all I had the energy for. I did check the polytunnel and it hasn’t moved an inch! I put that down to my technique of using bricks on top of the cover when I am burying it around the edges.
I did have a little success in the polytunnel but I’ll tell you about that another day.
My whole point here is that, yes we had a very windy couple of days and my sleep was a little disturbed but we didn’t have a hurricane or tornado, we didn’t have to evacuate. We all slept safe in our beds, with a roof over our heads, our bellies full of good food and our hearts full of love for each other.
We aren’t dodging bombs or having to find people in buildings which have been blown to bits. We don’t have to live in fear when we go about our daily business.
Our day was ordinary and I am so glad about that I wanted to share it with you. I hope your day is ordinary too because sometimes ordinary is just fine.
