Hubby was convinced we were getting a large visitor to the garden at night so I was determined to find out what was going on.
I went shopping on Ebay and found a decent trail camera. It arrived a few days later and I opened it with the excitement of a child at Christmas. I know – I’m easy pleased.
The instructions were the usual sort of guff you get these days but, as I’m not a complete moron, I managed to get to grips with it fairly quickly.
I picked a spot for the first attempt but it wasn’t very good – no images captured except me with a torch in my mouth, trying to attach the thing to a post. Deleted so don’t ask.
I put it up somewhere else – on the bird table. Thinking that since Hubby hears ‘something large’ jump the back fence this was a perfect spot. I’m thinking fox, he is convinced it’s a puma or some other large cat.
So I left the camera out all night and rushed out to get it. I brought it in and switched it to the right settings to see if there were any images or videos. There were!
There were 136 to be exact.
Turns out there were 136 images/videos of…….the polytunnel.
It had been windy and every time the polytunnel flapped – CLICK.
Every time the raspberry canes blew in the wind – CLICK.
So I need to find a better place in the garden, but it got me thinking.
“What if I set it up in the living room one night?”
So I did and after lots and lots of photos of family moving around and Scooby trying to raid the bin – all of which I deleted – I found one video that has me thinking.
Now I know I dusted and hoovered the day before but I do see – something. Dust? Orbs? Not sure but I was excited nonetheless. Something had triggered the camera when none of us were in the room. And just in time for Halloween! I’m going to try it again so if Casper turns up I’ll let you know! (you’ll hear me screaming first obviously)
