Knitting is not dead

I hear it’s making a comeback – I didn’t know it had gone away!

I’ve been knitting since I was a little girl. I still can’t get the hang of crotchet although I’m trying but the knitting thing is pretty good as long as the pattern is simple. I have attempted jumpers for example and it hasn’t gone well.

I have been hearing recently about all these famous people who knit which somehow turns it from old fuddy-duddy hobby to something cool. Apparently.

Anyway, I knit so I can have something to do with my hands while I watch something on YouTube. (Paranormal Nightmare episodes being my current favourite thing). I decided my dog-walking bag had seen the end of it’s days and thought ‘I’ll make a new one’ – you know for the poo bags and the like. So I did:

It’s lined, has a zip and slight padding so my phone is protected too. I’ve had to make a couple of adjustments but it now works fine!

I also found a pattern to make one of those roll-up things for my knitting needles. I’m always rummaging around my bag to find sizes so this seemed like a good way to spend some time.

It’s not perfect as the little bit of crotchet threw me a bit, but it’s functional and is now in my bag, keeping things a little tidier!

I’ve just started working through a pattern book of squares which are all different then get put together to make a throw. Not sure how long it will take me but I’ll show you when I’m done. Knitting will probably be un-cool by then but I’ll keep at it!

  1. Cute!! I love the bag ☺️
Yeah, knitting is now becoming “trendy” which is either a great or a bad thing 🤣
But my grandmother always loved to knit and sew…makes me miss her so much 🪡 🧵 🧶 I couldn’t get into it. Some people make some really cute and amazing things though!

    1. I tend to make useless things that look nice – toys, ornaments etc so good to make something I can use for a change!
