Life

It’s been a while Friends, how are you?

It feels like ages since we spoke – ok I know it’s only been a few days but it feels like longer to me.

I’ve got some allotment news for you first of all. On Monday, we managed a visit to the plot and got working on that woodchip once again. I’m nearly finished – just a bit at the top to do.

Behind the camera is the messy part where I have some lavender bushes, comfrey patch, messy ponds, apple tree and a few weeds. It will all get sorted eventually.

Back at home, the back garden got some work too although I’m not finished yet. I was going to wait to show you the final result but the weather has been awful so I’ll show you where I’ve got to so far. Actually that is a bit of a lie because only the last picture shows you the ‘after’ of one area! So these are all the ‘before’ pictures. The garden gets in quite a mess through the Winter!

I brought some woodchip to spread over the areas I’ve cleared so will hopefully be doing that at the weekend.

I have finally started to sow my seeds too – broad beans are done. I’m not in a rush though, will get onions, spring onions, peppers and aubergines done over the next couple of days and will put my potatoes out to chit. (That’s putting them in light so little shoots form – it’s said to give them a head start). They say that only early varieties need this but I’ll be doing it with my maincrop too – all home saved potatoes this year so fingers crossed. The price to buy seed potatoes is getting crazy so if mine work well this year, I’ll be sticking with my own from here on.

Other than that, I’m delighted to say Dearest Son’s dental work went well on Tuesday – thank you for the kind wishes, they really helped. I think he dealt with it much better than I did but at least we know what to expect in a month’s time when we do it all again for the other side of his mouth. He isn’t nervous about getting that done so to say I’m relieved would be a huge under-statement.

That’s it for today I think. I’ve been catching up with house cleaning, laundry and the like – all the exciting stuff! Hope you all had a great week.
