I’m trying to stay methodical with these jobs but it’s a struggle!
The last time I gave you a plot update it was to show I finally got a job finished, albeit a small corner of a bay but still, it helps.
Well, despite the cold, we went up again today and managed to FINALLY get the last little bit of the main strawberry patch cleared. Then we even managed to get a few barrow loads of home-made compost onto it which I spread all around. I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally get that job complete.
As usual with an allotment though, there is still plenty to do:
Last big bay to be weeded (again). It’s home made compost on it so the weeds are coming out easily.
The small fruit corner is to be weeded and compost spread
Herb corner weeded and either compost or woodchip
Little area for squash to be weeded and compost spread
Top area with seating: weed apple tree/comfrey area, sort little ponds, prune lavender bushes, fill bag with manure and spread woodchip all over
Once that is all done, I’ll have a much more prepared plot. Some of these jobs aren’t too big, it’s just getting the time to do it!
I did take some photos today:

But if you want to see the ‘action’ of the last couple of visits, the video is now available:
I hope you enjoy these gardening updates. It’s a struggle with the weather we’ve been having but I’m determined to get the place totally sorted out and season ready!
