Betrayal

Some memories bring comfort
others might make you smile.
The ones I had today were painful,
I hadn’t had them for a while.

They go back to a time
when happiness should have been shared,
instead I was left out,
I was hurt and no-one cared.

It wasn’t even the first time
this group had forgotten me.
But the pain is still so raw
as it was done by my family.

  1. Sometimes those closest to us can also be the most cruel. 😞

    1. It just amazes me the denial that comes with it. Happily they are no longer in my life.

      1. A lot of people are blind to things of that nature. Luckily, you don’t have to suffer them anymore

  2. Awww omg *hugs* so sad to read this and it made me feel similarly to things I’ve experienced with my own family. I’m glad if you no longer have to deal with that anymore 🙏

    1. Thank you Laura. I’ve been thinking about telling a couple of stories on the blog.
