I had quite a busy Sunday and it was almost a perfect day.
I made things:

I made some sourdough crackers and a lovely dip; started some l.reuteri yoghurt in my new machine which I don’t quite understand; made some rhubarb cordial; choc chip sourdough cookies; vanilla cupcakes.
The weather was not great to put it mildly so being busy in the kitchen seemed like a great idea.

One minute it was sunny although windy, the next the sky was very dark and down came the much needed rain. I can’t help thinking our weather (and health) would be much improved if they stopped spraying heavy metals across the sky.
Later on, I was out and about and took some photos of the setting sun:

The one thing which wasn’t perfect?
Well, a long time ago I listened to a podcast host talk about an incident she’d had when, coming out of the shower, a large spider, which had been on her towel, decided to move onto her skin. Much screaming and dancing ensued. I have shaken out my towel before using it, every day since hearing that story. Every day, that is, until today.
So, there I was, in the shower, about to step out. I had the towel wrapped appropriately and was about to pull back the curtain when I had the feeling I wasn’t alone. Not a nice feeling.
I glanced around and sure enough, an ugly squatter was in the bath next to me. It’s good to know I can still move at speed. I was out of there and apparently, not very quietly. Now I don’t want to give the wrong impression of the men of this house but when they shout from their bedrooms, ‘everything ok?’, instead of running to my assistance – well, at least I know who I can count on in an emergency!
I dealt with the intruder – on my own – and carried on with what was a nearly perfect day. The evening was spent knitting and watching gardening videos on YouTube, while munching on the crackers and dip – yes I am that old and I’m actually perfectly comfortable with it!
