The Storm is Passing

I thought I’d share some photos I took in the garden/house before the storm arrived.

It certainly has been a rough day here weather-wise, as it has been for the rest of the country. Strong winds saw pots and plants flying round the garden, bins moving as if by telekinesis and me at the kitchen window, praying the polytunnel cover would stay put – again.

This is what I saw out of the living room window this afternoon:

This actually makes it look quite calm! The rain had stopped for a while but it sure did return. However, the other day I saw some nicer things in the garden:

I had a bit of a mystery in the kitchen. I noticed some holes in the leaves of a chilli plant and my avocado plant:

I looked around, searched through leaves and the pots but couldn’t find anything….until it was getting dark.

When the blind in the kitchen was rolled down, there was a fat caterpillar on it! Needless to say I removed it and my plants are very happy about that!
