This reaction to Charlie Kirk’s murder hit hard

I wasn’t sure if I was going to write anything about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, for a number of reasons. One being, I didn’t want to add to the noise – there is already a lot being said about this tragic event and I certainly didn’t want to do it while my emotions were at their highest and angriest.

Also, I am no expert in any field connected to Charlie Kirk. I was aware of who he was but not a follower; I would watch videos that popped up in my feed and I was impressed by him but I didn’t actively seek out his work.

However, having said all of that, I don’t want to ignore the fact that a very talented young man has been murdered and this has affected many, many people of all ages, around the globe. There are ongoing discussions about who actually killed him – the young man arrested being obviously involved but was he signalled to, did he have accomplices, how could he have planned everything out on his own etc etc.

Similarities to the killing of JFK are being seen.

There have also been a couple of things noted which have add to the concerns. Notably, a book called The Shooting of Charlie Kirk: A Comprehensive Account of the Utah Valley University Attack, the Aftermath, and America’s Response by Anastasia J Casey. It appeared on Amazon with a publication date of September 9, 2025, one day before Kirk was fatally shot on September 10, 2025. Bearing in mind, a book needs 72 hours to be cleared before being listed. The listing was later removed, but screenshots and archived versions continue to circulate online. Also, his shooting and death apparently being headlines in 2 notable American newspapers, before the shooting took place. Again, people have taken screenshots and shared them on social media.

People continue to speculate about why he was killed with many saying it was because he told the truth and that he had the ears of the next generation. I think that while these may be true, there is a bigger reason. I believe he was assassinated because he was going to be President of the United States of America one day and I think that terrified many people.

And so he was stopped.

There has been much disbelief, anger, blame, pain, anguish – you name it. There has also been disgust and rightfully so. Seeing people openly celebrate the public execution of a young man who had a different opinion, is stomach churning. In all the videos I watched of Charlie Kirk, I never saw him shout or insult; merely hold open debate. I truly hope these people are held accountable.

And while emotions run high and many call for retribution among voices calling for calm, I heard one quote by a young man (mid teens) which summed up the whole situation perfectly for me.

On hearing of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, he stated:

This isn’t the same Earth I went to sleep on.

  1. Charlie Kirk. A wonderful human being.

    1. I’ve probably watched more of his videos since his passing than I watched when he was alive. What I can’t get over is the absolute low-life hate that is coming out. As a species, we haven’t evolved much at all.
