Husband’s Health

This is the post I’d always hoped I’d never write.

I try to be a positive person, at home and online. My gardening channel on YouTube, on here and even on the old podcast – positivity is at the heart of everything I do. Not naivety – I’m fully aware of the negative aspects of life but I choose not to dwell on them. That part just got harder.

Some of you will know that recently my husband’s health took another downward turn and he went in for investigations for prostate cancer. Those results have now come back and his nurse specialist phoned him on Friday morning.

It’s stage 3.

We’re not really sure where we go from here. He is to get a CT scan to see if it has spread – my husband tells me it has and is already talking about doing things ‘one last time’.

His stomach pain continues – constantly. He tells me he can feel the cancer has spread to his stomach. I don’t know what to tell him back.

I suppose we can’t do anything until the scan is done and we actually have more information but I needed to tell someone – and that someone is you.

To those of you who said a prayer before, I thank you and ask if you would be willing to do it again. We are in for a bumpy, lonely old road and I just pray I’m strong enough to travel it. I don’t feel strong enough today – maybe I will tomorrow.
