Security tags on meat and Christmas trees are up too!

My latest shopping trip had a couple of surprises for me.

As I drove into the car park, something caught my eye immediately. I had a brief ‘no, it can’t be’ moment, then I realised, yes it can be. Christmas trees are already being thrown up in the stores and they don’t even look like anyone has made an effort.

Exhibit A, your Honour:

If that is the pathetic excuse for a Christmas tree they are selling in Argos these days, they can keep them. Am I being too harsh or do you agree with me that this is a poor specimen?

After getting over that, I proceeded with my shopping.

Now, I know everything is expensive. I know prices went up during the covid era with various excuses being given but they’ve never come down again have they? And they never will.

Most of us are now aware of the plan to get everyone to stop eating meat altogether so the price will keep going up and up and up. If you won’t stop doing it voluntarily, they’ll price you out – a bit like driving a car. In fact, things have gotten so bad now, the one thing in the shop I saw with security tags on it, was the MEAT! I am not joking.

Exhibit B, your Honour:

All we need now is for some crazed weirdo to suggest that we should go fully cashless, get a chip put in our hands to pay for things and live in a digital world where you can lose all access to your money at the flick of a switch (or saying the wrong thing)……oh wait…….never mind…

  2. I went into a store to pick up a few things during covid. At check out, I was told they do not accept cash. So, I just walked out leaving the items on the check out counter. Fortunately, the cashless policy didn’t last long at this store.

And you are right, once prices go up they never seem to come down.

    It’s all nonsense. Complete nonsense.

    1. I wish I had the answer. More and more places are pushing for cashless payments, self service tills which are card only and now, the Government can spy on people’s bank accounts if they get benefits. Where does it end?!
