Catching up in pictures

My blogging habit has slipped of late which is something I’m trying to fix, again. So in an effort to catch us up with what’s been happening on my side, I found a whole lot of pictures I haven’t shown you yet. I am acutely aware my storage limit is drawing near so I’ll need to pay WP more money soon (feel free to help with that by buying me a coffee here!)

I’ve been on a bit of a no-dig mission over the past few months and part of that has been sourcing sheep fleece as a weed suppressant. I got some from a lovely lady when we met in a small village called Beauly. While there, I had a look around the Priory:

I’ll talk more about the sheep fleece in another post and include the YouTube videos there too. Please consider subscribing to my channel by the way – I’ve very close to getting 500 subs at the time of writing so a few more of you would really help! (Channel)

I’ve had chilli plants overwintering and some of them are still producing fruit which I was not expecting at this time of year.

Since putting a small pond in the front garden, we’ve noticed one of the local seagulls has taken to coming in regularly for a sip. He also guards the gate!

Of course, Burns night came and went. I made a veggie haggis dinner:

I also did a reading of ‘To A Mouse’ by Robert Burns, at the allotment. I figured I don’t always have to be working in the garden, sometimes it’s a good idea to do something different (subtitles are included so you can read along):

Life continues to bring it’s own special challenges. My husband’s health continues to cause concern but that’s a story for another day.

The car is leaking oil and although I’ve asked 3 garages to find it over the past year, it was only recently that someone could find it, sort of. Without doing more work they can’t be sure but think it’s coming from 2, maybe 3 places. I was advised to look for a new car. I’ve been looking but to be honest, I just don’t have the money for it so I’m at the stage of thinking, ‘is it ever worth forking out to keep the old one going’? (again). To be really really honest, I don’t want to get rid of it. It suits our needs perfectly – apart from the oil leaks and the windows not opening. These are not jobs I can fix myself. Advice appreciated and for reference, it’s a 2006 model!

I’ll bring more gardening news soon as I’ve been working hard to get things sorted out both at home and the allotment. If you can’t wait till then however, head to my YouTube channel!

  1. What an interesting assortment of photos. Loved it! It’s so much fun to search out the small things in places, rather than the grand displays. I like the quiet stuff. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Good, and interesting pictures.

I hope you get your car dilemma sorted, I gave up driving years ago so can’t offer any advice. Take care. xx

    1. Thank you Mike, glad you liked the pictures. I’ve decided to just keep driving this car till it falls apart, pretty much. I phoned the guy at a local garage about a car I saw advertised locally but he hasn’t got back to me – obviously not a priority customer!

  4. So pretty and so much history in Beauly Priory. Had to look up Burns Night. Now, I know. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Love the seagull standing guard. ๐Ÿ˜„

And your chilli plant looks so lovely and providing peppers all winter!

Good luck with your car whether you keep it or purchase one.

    1. Thanks Pauline. We really like this car so it’s going to be driven…into the ground! If I can find someone to fix it I will. Just can’t find one the same in a price range we can afford, it’s crazy.

      1. We had a car where we said we would drive it until the tires came off. Unfortunately, the tires outlived the body of the car! LOL.

  5. I can sympathise with the windows not opening. The driver’s window on my last car wouldn’t shut if I opened it., so I didn’t.

    1. I disconnected the fuse because the passenger front window would keep going down on it’s own.
