According to YT this will get the oil stain out!

I have a favourite hoodie and I need it clean. It’s time for a YouTube hack.

Last week I opened a can of sardines for Scooby’s breakfast and it’s one of those in sunflower oil. Guess where the oil went? Yeah, all over my hoodie.

I put it into the washing machine and gave it a wash but when it came out it was still grease splattered and I was still sad!

Off to YouTube we go…………….

This is my poor hoodie – see the stains? Nasty

DAY 1

Mr YouTube said that if I tried the following steps, I would be able to remove the stains! Well, that calls for a kitchen experiment.

Now at this point, there is some debate about how long to leave the mixture on. I’m going to leave it on overnight before I wash it out.

Will it work? Place your bets!

DAY 2

Ok, so back for day 2 – and yes, I did leave it out overnight.

This morning, I wasn’t sure how to take it off but luckily, as it was dried, it mostly just flaked off into the bowl. Then I put it in the washing machine to give a wash and hope for the best.

After the wash and bear in mind, it’s still damp in these photos….did it work?

I used different sorts of camera settings to show it the best I can:

In short, the oil stain is completely gone! I’m delighted to say I’ve finally found a YouTube hack which actually works. And a handy little hack it is too. So now you know how to get rid of an oily stain on your clothing!

    1. I couldn’t believe how well it worked, keeping a store of that stuff in a tub so I always have some at hand!
