Allotment Progress & Other Gardening Excitement

A LOT has been happening in the allotment and garden.

Progress on the allotment has been developing at an unusually fast pace (for me anyway). In fact, I’m down to my last 2 bays to do and then I can turn my attention to the paths but something has been very different this time.

Sheep fleece.

I’ve mentioned it before but I’m using it in all the places I’ve had problems in the past with spreading weeds – and there are a lot of places.

The main fruit corner and little strawberry patch got the cardboard and fleece treatment.

The herb corner got smothered in Autumn leaves.

The patches for squash and legumes both got cardboard and a mass of seaweed – then I had a brainwave!

My paths have had woodchip put on them year after year after year. The top layer is a little weedy, but underneath? Garden treasure and it’s just what I need to complete my next bed.

If you want to see what I’ve been doing watch the videos and subscribe to the channel as there is a video coming out on 4th March which shows the very latest update!

More gardening news coming – the season has kicked off and I have lots more to share with you.
