Garden Plan – Part 3

A quick background to the project in case you have forgotten or haven’t been here before: I replaced the cover on our polytunnel at our allotment and even though it’s a very make-shift cover, it gave me the idea of making a polytunnel (of sorts) for the back garden. Did I have a spare frame?…

Daily Prompt #5 Have you ever been camping?

I’ve been camping quite a lot over the years although not recently. Not long after we met, my husband and I went wild camping and in total spent a wonderful couple of weeks living on various beaches on the West coast of Scotland. And I loved it. I can honestly say, going to sleep with…

Growing Asparagus from Seed!

Trying something new this year – asparagus from seed. I’ve never grown asparagus before and I have been considering it for a few years but didn’t want to fork out a small fortune for a few crowns (one site I looked at currently wants £9.99 for ONE crown). Then by chance I spotted a little…

Lessons you have taught me

What do you mean to me? What lessons can you teach? I wait so I am patient. I trust so I have hope. I get excited so I know I feel joy. And as I get to watch you grow, get to look after you – watch you get stronger and more independent. Till that…

Is it difficult or am I just dim?

The headline of today’s post will let you know I’ve tried to do something and failed miserably, again. I have mentioned once or twice before that I am not a technically minded specimen. I like what some of it can do but I have to accept the fact it won’t be doing anything I tell…

Alternative Skills in SHTF Situation

*Disclaimer – This post if purely for fun. The author is not seriously suggesting you do any of the following (except maybe number 10). (Does my bum look legally covered from where you are?) I put up a post recently looking at 10 skills which would help you in a real SHTF situation, but today…

I think we can learn lessons from this

This can’t be an easy thing to do but this little guy never gives up – a valuable lesson we could all do with learning. Just because something isn’t easy or presents more obstacles than we would like, we should still try, try and try again.
